971 tenure-track professorships were created at 75 universities in Germany under the Federal Government-Länder Funding Programme since 2018. The tenure-track professorship career path was permanently implemented by the funded universities.

Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg

The university strives to sustainably establish tenure-track professorships across all its faculties to bring about a genuine cultural shift towards more reliable prospects of tenured professorships for a larger number of junior researchers at an earlier stage of their careers and it aims to purposefully deploy these professorships to strengthen its overall research profile.
