Funded universities

971 tenure-track professorships were created at 75 universities in Germany under the Federal Government-Länder Funding Programme since 2018. The tenure-track professorship career path was permanently implemented by the funded universities.

University of Göttingen

Since 2004, the University of Göttingen recruits for tenure-track professorships to attract, promote and keep high potentials.The University will make use of the current program to sustainably implement the tenure-track system in all faculties and to contribute to the international visibility of this career path at German universities.

University of Greifswald

The University of Greifswald (UG) considers the recruitment and support of junior researchers and paving the way for scientific careers to be one of its central tasks. Therefore, UG plans to increase the transparency and plannability of careers for junior researchers by expanding its career system through the introduction of additional TT professorships.

Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg

The MLU has set itself the target to achieve a culture change in the usage of the career path junior professor with tenure track across the complete board of disciplines, and to establish it permanently and to an adequate degree in all faculties of MLU.

Hamburg University of Technology

The Joint Federal Government-Länder Funding Programme for Junior Academics offers the opportunity to link personnel development in the field of science through the academic tenure track system with TUHHs’ own development strategies to enhance its academic staff structure.

Universität Hamburg

With its application in the context of the Tenure-Track-Programme and in connection with the decision to contribute extensively from its own budgetary funds for further tenure-track professorships, Universität Hamburg would now like to firmly and comprehensively establish, both with regard to staffing and infrastructure, the principle of Recruiting—Fostering—Retaining for young researchers.

Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media

The aim of the University is to offer very talented graduates a sound possibility which enables them through the means of a junior professorship to qualify for up-coming professorship vacancies. It is intended to implement and institutionalize the tenure-track qualification path permanently at the HMTMH.

Leibniz University Hannover

Leibniz Universität Hannover regards the announcement and filling of tenure-track professorships as a necessary step towards retaining highly qualified early-career researchers in academia.
